AITOLOAKARNANIA DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

The Aitoloakarnania Development Agency is the first Development Agency which was founded in the County. The Aitoloakarnania Development Agency was founded in December of 1994, with basic stockholders the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania, the the Union of Municipalities and Communities of Prefecture, the ten biggest municipalities of the County and the three unions of agricultural corporation.

The activities are focused on:

* Local Development Plans
* Rural Development
* E.U. Projects
* Environment Protection
* Community Development
* The creation of suitable infrastructure and planning for the constitution of new places of work

The Aitoloakarnania Development Agency (Region of Western Greece) has an annual pay-roll 800.000 Euro. The company is managed by the administrative council, which has nine members and is constituted by representatives of institutions that participate in the constitution of company.

The Aitoloakarnania Development Agency S.A. is organised in (7) departments in which directs the General Director Zaharias Skordopoulos:
